About Me

Chandler Picot, Board-Certified Addiction Counselor (CADC) and Recovery Coach in the Piedmont region

The Journey: From Entrepreneurship to Advocacy

I approach recovery through a unique dual lens: as a seasoned business owner and a board-certified professional. I understand the "hustle culture" that can fuel burnout and relapse, and I use that lived experience to help high performers and families find a sustainable path to stability.

Professional Credentials & Authority

My work is grounded in clinical standards and state-recognized certifications to ensure the highest level of care and ethical advocacy:

  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC): Credentialed by the North Carolina Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board (NCASPPB).
  • Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS): Issued by the NC Department of Health and Human Services and administered by the UNC School of Social Work.

My Approach: Clarity Over Pressure

I work with individuals and families who feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure of what comes next. I understand how isolating addiction can be — not just for the person struggling, but for everyone who loves them.

Everything I do is focused on:

  • Navigating Recovery Options: Making sense of a complex system to find the right fit for your specific needs.
  • Setting Healthy Boundaries: Rebuilding family dynamics without shame or judgment.
  • Long-Term Stability: Moving past the initial crisis into a life of purpose and entrepreneurial drive.

If you are looking for support that is honest, practical, and rooted in deep professional understanding rather than pressure, you are in the right place.

Advocacy & Community Leadership

I believe that real change happens when lived experience meets systems-level thinking. My commitment to the recovery community extends beyond one-on-one coaching and into the legislative and organizational structures that shape how care is delivered in North Carolina.

Systems-Level Impact

I serve on several substance abuse recovery committees, where I bridge the gap between practical, on-the-ground recovery and effective policy. My focus is on:

  • Improving Access: Ensuring meaningful resources are available to the "everyday person" without bureaucratic barriers.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Leveraging my entrepreneurial background to help organizations and programs operate more efficiently while staying focused on people, not just policies.
  • Family Recovery: Advocating for the families who are often the "forgotten" victims of the addiction crisis.

Current Affiliations & Outreach

My advocacy work is centered in the Piedmont regions of North Carolina, working alongside community leaders to improve housing stabilization and overdose prevention initiatives. I am dedicated to fighting for transparent, compassionate, and effective recovery systems for all North Carolinians.
